Herdade do Arrepiado velho is located in Sousel, about 40 km from Portalegre, in Alto Alentejo. In 2001 it saw the rebirth of a long abandoned space. The 19th century Alentejo hill was rebuilt according to the region's traditional architecture and 33 hectares of vineyards were planted from scratch, in a terroir that rarely combines schist soils of steep slopes with mild temperatures and plenty of water.
Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon are the grape varieties used in red wines and Antão Vaz, Chardonnay, Riesling, Viognier and Verdelho in white wines.

António Antunes, responsible for the production of unique and seductive wines and Marta Melo, responsible for marketing and bold and elegant design are the great drivers of this project.
